Who is ACEP?

ACEP is a dynamic program that is reflected in the faces of the organization. ACEP core staff and faculty span a diverse range of expertise. Many are new to academia, and bring extensive industry and private sector experience to the University of Alaska Fairbanks.

ACEP was established in January of 2008 with a new business model for the university.  This model focused on working at the speed of business to provide critical answers to questions that can move the industry forward.

ACEP’s goal is to remain lean by leveraging expertise from around the university system and within our partner organizations to quickly create a high-impact team to tackle any question.  ACEP also utilizes the highly skilled resources of our parent organizations including the Institute of Northern Engineering to accomplish key functions such as business management, proposal submission, contract negotiations and human resources.

Our goal is to meet state and local needs for applied energy research by working toward developing, refining, demonstrating, and ultimately helping commercialize marketable technologies.

ACEP Director, Gwen Holdmann

ACEP also relies on the professionalism and experience of the Institute of Northern Engineering Business Office.
